ANGELA PERRY GALLERY

Tell us a little about your current work - what do you do, and what inspires you to do it? I want to see a change in the world for good and help foster incredible leaders from diverse backgrounds. I work with not for profits, social and ethical enterprises to help them set up, pivot or transform. How does your work enrich your life or the lives of others? It helps to support women, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and allows worthwhile ideas to succeed.
Can you share a recent project you’ve worked on that you’re most proud of? Nightingale is an ongoing project that is close to my heart because it relates to our communities and how they are imagined through housing. It is also looking at affordable and sustainable housing and preventing people becoming part of the next stage poverty gap. What was the pivot point that set you on your current path? I was in a company that had grown to such an extent it had lost some of its innovation, which is something I love and crave. At that point, I started asking myself what I really wanted to do and be.

Are you creating your own path or being guided by a mentor? Both: I have been guided by amazing parents and a few key inspirational people; I have also worked hard and had an unrelenting vision. Where in the world would you describe as the place that speaks to you - your soul place? India - it is a chaos that works and where people are so poor but yet so happy. It is a contradiction and the first place where I had to let go to survive.
